Our Objectives
Our main Objectives are:
1. Protecting Workers' Rights
We strive to protect the rights of fishers, ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and social security benefits. We advocate for the enforcement of labor laws and international standards to safeguard the well-being of our members. We have been protecting our workers in the fishing industry for more than 10 years now.
2. Advocacy and Representation
The union serves as a strong advocate for fishers, representing their interests at various levels. We engage with government authorities, policymakers, and relevant stakeholders to shape policies and regulations that promote the sustainable development of the fisheries sector and the rights of fishers.
3. Capacity Building and Training
We recognize the importance of empowering fishers with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their profession. Our union provides capacity-building programs, training workshops, and educational resources to enhance the professional and technical capabilities of our members.
4. Safety at Sea
The safety of our members is of utmost importance. We work towards improving safety measures at sea, promoting the use of proper equipment, and providing training on emergency response and accident prevention. We also advocate for the implementation of effective search and rescue operations to ensure the well-being of fishers while they are at sea.
5. Collaboration and Networking
We foster collaboration and networking among fishers and relevant stakeholders to create a united front in addressing common challenges and advancing the interests of the fishing community. We actively engage in partnerships with national and international organizations
6. Socio-Economic Welfare
We aim to improve the socio-economic conditions of fishers and their communities. Our union supports initiatives that promote sustainable fishing practices, enhance income opportunities, and provide access to social welfare programs, healthcare, and education for fishers and their families.
